Yet across Cameroon and many parts of Africa, these natural systems are under increasing pressure from climate change, deforestation, unsustainable land use, biodiversity loss, pollution, and rapid urbanization.

The consequences extend far beyond environmental degradation. They threaten food security, livelihoods, public health, economic development, and the well-being of present and future generations. Rural communities, women, young people, and Indigenous populations are often the most affected, despite contributing the least to these global environmental challenges.

Rise For Nature was founded on the belief that protecting the environment and improving human well-being are inseparable goals. Lasting conservation can only be achieved when communities are empowered to become active stewards of the natural resources upon which their lives depend.
